Taraba State relaxes 24-hour curfew in the State. This was announced on Wednesday by the Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor on New Media, Musleem Aruwa. The curfew will now run from 6 pm to 7 am. Meanwhile, this will be closely monitored and the new time will remain till further notice.
Jalingo had imposed curfew in the State capital, Jalingo and Wukari Local Government area. This follows the same pattern of other State as a response to vandalization by hoodlums in the States.
“However, persons with useful information on the criminal elements in our midst, especially those involved in the recent looting should kindly tip the security agencies nearest to them.
“Similarly, those who took part in the shameful looting of public and private property should return such items to their ward heads, Village/Districts heads or the local government chairmen as these categories of leaders have been directed to collate these looted items for safekeeping so that they can be returned to government and other private businesses affected.”
Furthermore, the Government will continue to make sure that normalcy is returned and maintained in the State. However, law-abiding citizens can resume to work and their day-to-day activities.
