Ministry of health releases safety measures to prospective Corps members on Thursday. This is coming a day after the Batch ‘C’ Corps members passing-out parade. The National Youth Service Corps announced the commencement date for another Batch orientation camp. The pandemic caused the delay in mobilizing the prospective Corps.
However, orientation camps will open up on November 10. This was announced by the Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim amidst the #EndSARS protest. On Tuesday, an attempt to loot some orientation camps were foiled. Moreover, a statement was released by the DG that there is no COVID-19 palliative in the orientation camps. He also clarified that resources there are for the incoming Corps members.
“As NYSC orientation course begins across the country we urge all Corp Members to continue to #TakeResponsibility in the fight against #COVID19Nigeria:
-Straight ruler Maintain #physicaldistancing
-Face with medical mask #Wearyourmask properly at all times
-Soap #WashYourhandswith soap & water.
Furthermore, there is a special instruction for the prospectives that will be travelling down to the country. They are expected to arrive at least 2 weeks before the commencement of the orientation. This is to allow them to do self-isolation before resuming to camps.
